Link Server Service Tool


Link Server Tool to link users
(only for Outlook Messenger Version 5.x)

Link Server Tool is a tiny server tool, which helps to link users for your outlook messenger users list. This tool is an alternative for Broadcast tool & IP Range options which are used for Sub Networks / Virtual Private Networks. Link Server Tool can be also used in single network, if you have issues on users displaying random for each refresh of users list.

Note: Link Server Tool just helps to make sure all online users displayed properly. Chat & all other communication messages will NOT be transferred through Link Server. They will be transferred directly between the sender & receiver.

How to:
1. Install Outlook Messenger Link Server on a system having static IP Address.
2. Make sure Link Server service is added in firewall exception list. If needed, open TCP/UDP Port 14220, which is used by Link Server Service.
3. In ALL Outlook Messenger clients, Provide that Link Server Tool running IP Address. (In Outlook Messenger Settings > Network (Tab) > Link Server IP Address)
4. Users who have provide the same link server IP Address will be displayed online and able to communicate.
5. If a user not using link server IP Address like others, he will have issues in users displaying online & communication.
6. If Link Server Service was stopped or any connection failure, Subnetwork / VPN users linked by this tool will be displayed offline. Only Local Network users will be displayed as Online.


Link Server Service need to be installed in only ONE computer for the whole network. Use the same IP Address in all Outlook Messenger. If you want to have partition among Users, you can install Link Server Service in multiple computers. Users who are using a link server IP address will be grouped & they cannot able to communicate with other link server IP address users.
